Summer Tribute
This whole summer, I did a few ad hoc jobs with dear Serene.
1) Dressing up as stewardesses at Fullerton Hotel (was not too bad)
2) McDonald's pepper drumlet meal commercial (most overworked yet underpaid job)
3) Ushering at Shangri La
4) Ambassadors at Marina Square (*PUI*)
5) Carrying huge shopping bag and posing as shoppers (the best & most fun one by far)
Actually, gals really get it good. All our jobs just require us to smile and look pretty, pose for pictures at times and the ACTUAL work hours were only 2-3hrs for some of the jobs and we get paid quite a bit...Well, definitely much more than my pittance salary & DEFINITELY more worth than our effort.
So much so that we once joked that we are for hire in a pair.
Cheers to more ad hoc jobs! Rite babe?

Jolin Tsai
Last Wednesday, my company gave everyone in my dept tickets to Jolin Tsai's gig @ Zouk. Guess it's some leftover tickets cos Singtel was one of the main sponsors for her gig.
Actually, i dun give 2 hoots about jolin tsai and i wasn't really her fan nor do i understand or listen to Chinese pop, I just went along with everyone since it was at Zouk.
We got VIP passes that entitled us to free flow of housepours,wine,beer.

For the eleventh 10th, I checked into The M Hotel and pampered myself with their luxurious facilities & food.
The M Hotel, btw, is a boutique hotel.
Our 3 course fine-dining.....
Consisting of wild mushroom soup, some appetiser and steak.

Marche is OUT
Read from the Sunday Life that VILA'GE is taking over Marche at Heeren. Been to the VILA'GE outlet at China Square a few times and the food there are pretty much similar and cheaper than that of Marche.
VILA'GE pretty much copied the whole entire concept of Marche: the Movenpick cows, the thing on the table that u can flip whether the seat is reserved/occupied/vacated, the cards that u charge the food to, the type of food like rosti, crepes, pizza.

A Tragic IncidentI met Nicholas at sentosa on sat after a 6 month hiatus. The last i saw him was at the Christmas 2005 gathering at The Ritz Carlton hotel room. Anyway, was glad to see him after such a long time and he's even changed his car. That shows how long I haven't met him.
Anyway, if u look closely at my chin in this pic, u would notice a faint scar. Well, its a rather long story as to how i had gotten that scar. It's still quite visible now if u look closely at my chin. It's another one of the silly things elizabeth does, but this i would forever remember cos it is permenantly etched on my face......
I was slacking at home someday last year and was kinda hungry, so decided to cook myself instant noodles. Well, my elder sis and i never pour out the noodles from the pot after cooking them. Both of us always eat from the pot after cooking it. Call us lazy or wad but it was a habit she taught me saying that I would have saved the effort and trouble of having to wash an extra bowl if i had eaten from a bowl. Well, her advice brought to my demise eventually!!
So, I was eating the noodles out of the pot and watching tv at the same time, then, i placed my face near the pot so that the noodles won't drip all over the place while im eating it. Then, my chin sizzled on the pot that was still hot from the stove and i quickly ran to the bathroom and ran cold water on my scalded chin. I didn't know wad to put on my scalded chin, heard abt the toothpaste remedy but din dare try it, so i iced it instead.
But after that, my chin had a horrible scar and the scar was bright red from the scald in the initial stages. Imagine the fugly-ness i have to face everyday and the explanation i had to offer to everyone who asked what happened to my chin. I was sooooo afraid that it would disfigure my face, that i really took good care of the wound and even contemplated plastic surgery to cover the scar should there be one.
Fortunately, the scar was faint but still visible under scrutiny, that's why I have been tanning at every possible ocassion, cos so that the scar wouldn't look so conspicuous then.
Lesson Learnt: Never ever listen / believe / trust / follow what your older sibling tell you.

Tea Break
Met up with Chee Yan at Far East for a little retail therapy. The hot afternoon sun was unbearable. We walked around looking for some place to get a drink and chill. We both found this quaint and cosy little cafe at Level 1 selling HK delicacies. I had a milk tea (which was the best i have ever tasted) and he had a really thirst quenching lemonade.

Anyway, I ended up buying yet another Empire cut dress.
The one that i am wearing in the pic was the first one that i bought after much hemming and hawing, and asking keith for the 37463th time whether the dress looks good on me. Well, I have received mixed responses about the dress, some saying that I look pregnant in it, while some say its very nice. Well, heck the negative comments. Who cares what u think!!! What matters is that i LOVE the dress! Geddit!
Anyway, this is Chingky! He's a labrador retriever. Well, Keith is going to be away in Canada for 3 weeks, and I'm going to dog-sit Chingky!!!! He's a really sweet dog albeit his appearance. I like walking Chingky although sometimes he's a bit difficult to handle cos he's quite big and he pulls me along instead of me pulling him.
Anyways, im going to have a blast with him, so dun worry k , Keith. And enjoy urself in Canada while i enjoy myself with Chingky.... muahahahaahahhha

Long Weekend
Had a really long and enjoyable weekend with the gang. Had bbq and then chilled/slacked at her place till we decided to catch a late night movie.
Serene and I were the designated drivers and we both whisked everyone down to Cineleisure to try and get tickets to any available movie. We actaully wanted to catch "Thank You For Smoking" but there were no seats left. So we decided to watch this splatter-horror movie titled "Dead and Breakfast". Horrible movie btw!!!
DO NOT EVER watch it unless u have absolutely nothing to do and have too much $$$ to splurge! The show was an absolute gorefest with lotsa yuck!!!! Its nothing but a splatter film with an irritating singing narrator. All of us had a hard time keeping awalke for the movie as it was a 12.30am show and ZhiQin who was sitting beside me was dozing off, and i had to wake him up a few times but gave up after a while cos the movie was simply not worth waking up to watch... haha!
Jiahuan pestered Serene to take the pillows from her car so that the both of them can snuggle up to it while watching the movie.
I tried to gather everyone for a group shot
but all they gave was their fingers.
Which Adrian said and I quote, "Our fingers are our representives!"
WOW! I didn't know i had fingers as my friends.... (rolls eyes)
So the movie ended at 2.30 am and we planned to meet at 1pm later in the day for our usual Sentosa stint: tanning, slacking, beach volleyball, swimming. I love going in to Sentosa in a car cos that means that we dun have to wait for the shuttle and change 3 shuttle buses just to get to the beach.
They are doing the fingers thing again.....
A very helpful uncle helped us to take this group shot. Too helpful, I might add!

Shoppers @work
Over the weekend, Serene & I were being paid to do what we like to do most......... Shop and take photos.
We just had to carry a huge shopping bag and walk around like shoppers, taking photos at certain locations. On the job, we shopped at Topshop and I bought quite a few stuff.... My 11th bikini and a shirt for Keith. Whereas Serene bought a belt and thronged the entire Bugis Village and caught Pirates of The Carribean with Adrien.
It's the best job ever, i tell u!!!

Finally got our food after an hr, and having a few diners died of starvation.
>Both ZQ and Adrian ordered a half-slab Billy Bomber's famous pork ribs.
But while Adrian's ribs were soft and tender, ZQ's ribs were tough.
Cursing and swearing at the below-standard food being served to him!
>After gorging halfway through his ribs, he was shaking his head and grumbling about the lousy food that he always get whenever he order food.
Being a good fren, I, Elizabeth, decided to help by flagging a waiter down, and asking the waiter to get him a new set of ribs, complaining about the tough ribs and requested for a another set.
>The replaced ribs were so much more tender and soft and the fries served were really good. In the end, ZQ got to eat 2 portions of half-slab ribs= 1 whole slab
That explains why he is beaming so grossly!..
I have to say the waiter was really nice in giving us a brand new plate of ribs, without giving me any sniggers/sneers/smirks. Good service!!!
On the other hand, who knows what other "fanciful" ingredients were added to the dish while the cook was cooking behind closed doors...
P.S. This is not the first time I have gone up to the waiter to ask for a change in the food,
I'd like to think that I seek high standards in the food while dining out in restaurants.
But to my frens, i'm every restaurant's nightmare.

Rantings
@work and feeling real sick of working here. Not that I dun like the job.. The people here are really nice and friendly, but its just that I'm so sick of doing extremely mundane stuff which I absolutely have no interest in. Like excel with all its pivot tables and stats and churning out reports, feels like CAT all over again. And before that had to do all the business process workflows which was like so BP. Wad I'm doing now is so Operations Management which i totally am not interested in... Its ironic cos I'm gonna major in Econs & Finance which is totally unrelated to what i am doing now.
Anyways, if not for this internship at Singtel, I would have been able to follow my family to tour London & Paris...
Imagine all the shopping at luxury boutiques along Champs-Elysees which are a tad slightly cheaper than S'pore, according to my mum who bought a few stuff from CD.
And the Topshop in London, with all the latest season of threads... oooooooo
