Melaka Road Trip
On the highway to Melaka where u see the endless stretch of the countryside and the vast blue skies.
And yes, we are Arsenal fans! :)

Seafood dinner at a Portugese settlement in Melaka.
Tried both the black pepper and chilli crab.
Still prefer Singapore's rendition of the chilli crab.

Their seafood are caught fresh by the owners free-diving into the nearby sea.
And that's my mum holding a king crab.
A hugeass basket of oysters. Rumor has it that if you are lucky enough, u might find a pearl in it and get to keep it :)
And a cute little kitty at the foot of my dad's chair.

The seaside view from the seafood restaurant...

and finally the main city centre of Melaka, Jonker Street
Melaka is a Little Nonya small town

The mum buying some freshly baked pineapple tarts.
And some nonya kuehs.

Geographer's Cafe.... a local pub.
Where "Summer More More Tea" filmed here. It's the scene where Sammi Cheng had a confrontation with her best friend where she found out the truth about her best friend and her bf (Tay Ping Hui) cheating on her.
Had beer with my dad while waiting for my mum and sis to do their shopping.

Geographer's Cafe is at the cross junction of Jonker Street, great vantage point of checking out all the action and people watching.

The famed gula melaka chendol at a peranakan place.

Chicken rice balls!!!!!!!!

I can never escape from the clutches of Starbucks even in godforsaken Melaka.
And the best dish i had during this drive trip was the Yong Peng noodles!!!!!!!
Melaka's wide array of tropical fruits really amazes me.
And a piece of Melaka i brought back with me........ a Rolling Stone junk food tee :)
